Kijiji Buyers BEWARE of Puppy SCAM!

Gail Benoit & Dana Bailey continue to sell puppies despite their previous convictions of Animal Cruelty and upcomming charges on numerous other animal cruelty charges. They are now operating out of Dartmouth/Halifax area & continue to post ads on Kijiji in hopes of generating new sales.

"There was no doubt the pair mistreated dogs."

"The distressed state of the puppies was not a sudden occurrence. It developed over time. Even if the appellants’ control of the puppies had been brief — a matter of days — there was ample time and opportunity to relieve their then obvious distress, or to begin doing so,"

Characterization lacked "any air of reality" - Justice Peter Bryson Source

Wanted kijiji Ad

Wanted: People to buy puppies and use common sense. Know where your dog comes from. If the sellers want and insist on delivering the dog...RED FLAG! Learn about Parvo virus and how it is spread so easily from infected premises and handlers. Read the certificate that comes with the dog. No certificate? Give it a miss then. If there is a paper, make sure it is not a photo copy that has been altered to seem to fit your dog.(common practice from dishonest sellers)Reputable breeders and sellers offer a guarantee. (If it is 24hrs,then the dog most likely has Parvo). Is the seller selling out of her car? Run away!!! Remember parvo can get on your shoes, car tires etc.Did the seller insist on you giving your phone number but she refused to give you hers? Why was that? Do you read all the warnings on here about Benoit/Bailey? Pay attention because it will spare you in the long run. I cannot believe that people so easily part with 800.00 for a puppy that has no papers, or proof that it is healthy. They take the word of someone who looks like Cruella Deville, that the dog is the breed that you want. (It is likely a lie)Does the person on the phone sound like a crack smoking witch? Hang up! Rescue a puppy from shelter near you!!! Safer, wiser, smarter, cheaper

I'm so tired of people still going out and buying these puppies. They are willingly playing a lottery, if the puppy lives they are happy and will send other people on to the Benoits, if not, then they complain and rage about the injustice and cruelty and of course loss of money. I no longer believe that these people don't know the risk they are taking and have not heard of the Benoits, they've been all over the news and all over the web. When I buy ANYTHING now I google for reviews of product and service and that includes minor purchases. How naive are people that they would hand over hundreds of dollars without any research or asking for advice. If they can't tell a 4-week old puppy from a 9-week old puppy then they shouldn't have a friggin' dog anyway. Educate yourselves people, it's not a toaster that you can take back to the store if it doesn't work. I for one am sick of the buyers as well as the sellers. Good luck trying to put these 2 out of business though, they are vile "humans".
