Another person has bought a dog from Dana Bailey and Gail Benoit, and 10 days later the dog died. David Tidwell picked up the chiuaua he traded for a computer. The 1 and a half year old dog was apparently given to them by someone in Kentville and has bore at least one puppy in the three months since. Not long after buying the dog, Tidwell says things went sour as the dog had no energy, red eyes, started passing blood and passed away last night. Bailey and Benoit have been contacted by the buyer and the SPCA and they dismiss the claims. SPCA officials say the dog was disposed of so an autopsy can't be done, but the symptoms are consistent with parvo virus, the illness previous autopsies revealed to be the cause of death of several puppies sold by the Puppies R' Us company. Bailey and Benoit are currently charged with two separate counts of animal cruelty each. The SPCA is looking for a new companion for Tidwell, so if you would like to donate a healthy chiuaua or other breed, e-mail winniepooh345@hotmail.com.
